有其他像是可替代if么？

若内容不限定为虚拟语气，则可使用其他的词来代替 if 。

1、supposing / suppose :意为“假如.......的话 / 不妨.......的话”

Supposing the train is late , shall we be able to go to school in time ?

假如火车误点了，我们是否能及时到学校？

2、provided（that）：意为“倘若........”，但是在书写的时候，通常都用在句子后面。

You can play baseball provided （that）you keep off the grass .

只要你不进入草地，你就可以打棒球。

Provided（that）there is no opposition , I will act as representative of our class .

倘若没有反对意见的话，我将担任本班的代表。

3、in case（that）：意为“以防（万一）........”使用于预防的情形，通常都置于句子的后面。

You had better take your umbrella in case it rains.

你最好带上伞，以防下雨。

4、on condition （that）:意为“在........条件下; 若.......则........”通常用于句子的后面。

You can use my car on condition （that）you drive it carefully。

若你能小心开车的话，你就可以用我的车。

使用 unless 时应该注意什么呢？

unless有 if......not的意思，因此在unless从句中绝不可以用not。

（X）You don't have to do the work unless you don't have time.

（X）You don't have to do the work if you don't have time.

（√）You don't have to do the work unless you have time.

假如你没有时间的话，就不必去做那件事了。

说明：

这个错误是因为中文的意思而产生的，同样地在使用before时也容易发生类似的错误。

（X）He had eaten all before I did not eat .

（√）He had eaten all before I began to eat .

在我还没有开始吃以前，他已经把所有的东西都吃光了。

替换 if 还需注意什么呢？

在“祈使句+and / or”的形式中，祈使句的部分可用 if 从句来代替。

Hurry or you'll be late .

=If you don't hurry , you'll be late . / Unless you hurry , you'll be late .

快一点，否则你会迟到的。

Turn to the right and you'll get to the shop .

=If you turn to the right , you'll get to the shop .

向右转，你就能到达那家店铺。
